All actors and sets were real, and artwork was painted for each set. Director Brady Corbet and Mona Fastvold wrote the screenplay, with real humans and extras on set. Despite the controversy, this film does not use AI generative or otherwise to replace the human element.

What was AI? AI was used for six minutes to modify Adrien Brody’s accent with the Ukrainian software Respeecher. It was exclusive to voiceover for six minutes of the film. It did not replace his performance or any other filmmakers and crew involved.
